Eco Ambassador

The Eco Ambassador Program is again running throughout 2016, thanks to our partners Cruise Whitsundays. The Eco Ambassadors have now been selected and we have put together an fantastic plan for the year ahead. We are very excited to teach and work with these amazing enthusiastic students.

During 2015 the Eco Ambassador program was a huge sucess, the students loved learning about the threats of marine debris, how to prevent it and how to care for our sick and injured turtles. They were then able to go back into their schools to promote and educate their peers on Eco Barge's mission. We even saw two amazing Eco Ambassadors entering Eco Barge into the Sunsuper Dreams For A Better World grant program, out of 900 not for profits Australia wide, Eco Barge came second winning us as outstanding $30,000.

With so much demand and enthusiasm from our local schools and their students to learn more about Eco Barge and our activities we have launched a new program to actively engage our local school children by selecting two students from each Reef Guardian school in the Whitsundays to become Eco Ambassadors.

Our 2015 Eco Ambassadors have now been selected, and we look forward to teaching these students about how they can help protect our local marine environment and marine life from the threats of marine debris and how to care for our local marine turtle populations. The Eco Ambassadors will then be able to go back and promote the mission of Eco Barge within their schools.
