Date: 15th June 2018
Location: Hook Island
Partner: Queensland Governments Community Sustainability Action grant program
Volunteers: 11
Debris Removed: 272 kilograms
Today we headed to Hook Island and cleaned 3 beaches, most of what we found was micro plastics which was back breaking work for our amazing volunteers. Interestingly enough, from Saba Bay, a beach we cleaned on 25th April, we removed 106 kilograms of marine debris, this means that the rate of which the marine plastics is accumulating here is about 2 kilograms per day!!!
